Karel Žídek, a colleague from our team, has been awarded the prestigious ERC Consolidator Grant for the innovative COINED project.
The project aims to develop a new approach to studying thin-film interfaces using laser pulses to create microscopic "earthquakes" within the layers. These pulses also enable the observation of how "seismic" waves reflect at the boundaries of the layers on a nanometer scale. This innovative method will help advance the understanding of the factors behind optical disruptions and push the boundaries of current optical technologies.
